Research Highlights:
-In the Indian River Lagoon there has been N enrichment leading to eutrophication.
-N and δ15N were highest in the northern Indian River Lagoon & Banana River Lagoon.
-δ15N was enriched to levels characteristic of human-waste impacted estuaries.
-Variability in δ15N among lagoon segments suggests a low level of trophic connectivity.
-Decreasing N loading to eutrophic estuaries may help improve resiliency.
